The annual Lake St. Peter road clean up went ahead this year after a pause in 2020 due to so many uncertainties around COVID-19.
Lake St. Peter has a long history of many volunteers and organizers of the annual clean up. Stu & Vicky Sharpe organized from 1993-2008, Wayne & Betty McPherson from 2009-2015, then the Lake St. Peter Property Owners Association lead by John Severinac has been organizing since 2016-2021.

Initially, the road clean up took place along Hwy. 127 from the Lake St. Peter Landfill site to Maynooth. The highway was marked off at 1 Km intervals with volunteers assigned to a specific Km. They would clean up trash on both sides of the highway so they are actually cleaning 2 kms.
In 2016 the following roads were added to the clean-up: Boulter Road, Lake St. Peter Road, Centre Road, Circle Road, North Twin Pines Road, South Twin Pines Road, Card Road, South Road and Elgin Road.

A big shout out and thank you to all the volunteers and especially the new volunteers who did their road sections with their children, making this a family educational event!
Litter, trash that people drop all around the ground, is an eyesore. Worse, it can be harmful to children, animals, and our environment. If you see trash around your neighbourhood, don’t assume someone else will take care of it. Be proactive in taking care of it whether you live here or are a seasonal resident or guest.
Our amazing volunteers at work - let's keep it going!
